Verse 1

Another day in this carnival of souls
Another night settles in, as quickly as it goes
The memories are shadows; ink on the page
And I can't seem to find my way home

Chorus

And it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything
Your heaven's trying everything
To keep me out

Verse 2

All the places I've been and things I've seen
A million stories that made up a million shattered dreams
The faces of people I'll never see again
And I can't seem to find my way home

Chorus

Cause it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything
To break me down
Cause it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything
To keep me out

[Guitar Solo]

Chorus

Cause it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything
To break me down
Cause it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything
Your heaven's trying everything
To break me down
To break me down

Outro

To break me down
Your heavens trying everything
Your heavens trying everything
To break me... down

I feel like its about the odyssey, anyone else? Far from home=Odysseus's time away from his home. Night settling in as quickly as it goes, extremely long time passing in minutes. carnivoul of souls being all the men he's lost to their greed. Heaven or the gods keeping Odysseus out of Ithica. The places he's been are all the islands and challenges he's faced. All the shattered dreams and men he will never see again are his entire crew during his voyage, along with all the fallen soldiers he fought along side with during the Trojan war. The resemblances are uncanny and if you like the song, I would recommend you read the book to see what I mean. The emotions of the song are very similar to the odysseus' emotions in the book. Wether you like it or not, it's what I think.

To me this song is to remember memories about my life but now it's constant neglecting me but I'm remembering my happy memories but everyday I hear that people are prejudiced other people because their different than other people it's almost as they don't care about some person I wish people just stop judging other's because they aren't perfect.

This fits perfectly into my life.
Moved to a new school on my last year of high school, no friends, an alien again. Hate every moment I spend there and wish I could go back in time and re-live those memories at my old school, but I can't seem to find my way home...

I feel that it means to think about your past in a way. Looking back at the decisions you've made and how that has affected you. I definitely feel and see the military aspect of it but this is what I feel more strongly towards. Either way I love this group and all of their songs!
