Ferras Hollywood's Not America lyrics

Born Helena Jane
With a restless soul
She moved west to California
Became a Center-Fold

But once you change your name
Well the pieces fall
Now she hardly recognizes herself at all

And there’s never any rain, when you want it
A hollow little game, and you’ve won it
Looking for a thrill but you’ve done it all

So long, put your blue jeans back on girl
Go home
Remember Hollywood’s not America
So long put your blue jeans back on girl
Go home
Remember Hollywood’s not America
Oh yeah
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/f/ferras/hollywoods_not_america.html ]
And everybody heres, from somewhere else
You could make a million dollars, but you might lose yourself
And you can take the heat will your heart go cold
They say acting’s just pretending, even that gets old

And there’s never any rain, when you want it
A hollow little game, and you’ve won it
Looking for a thrill but you’ve done it all

So long, put your blue jeans back on girl
Go home
Remember Hollywood’s not America
So long put your blue jeans back on girl
Go home
Remember Hollywood’s not America

And I know what to do when
I know that you
You can be anything you want to be

So long, put your blue jeans back on girl
Go home
Remember Hollywood’s not America
So long put your blue jeans back on girl
Go home
Remember Hollywood’s not America
Hollywood’s not America
It’s not America

You don't have to be perfect. And you don't have to change just to fit in or be popular! Be yourself and you'll go far. This song rlllyyy explains tht point!!

Oh my gosh! This is me and one of my friend's theme song! We love it. I think it really explains that all you have to be is yourself and no one else. You are you, so stop pretending to be someone else to make yourself look "cool", because you can't change who you are. You can change the way you walk, talk, or look, but you can't change who you are inside. I love this song and it's saying something true. Stay yourself, change for no one.

The song is really right. Hollywood isn't america. People can lose there self out there and they don't know what to do about it. So they get into drugs and alcohol. Once your gone is you can't come back. Nomater how much you try. You can't go back home and you can't go back to hollywood.

This is a really catchy song. I think that it's suppose to represent the change that people go through just so other peoples perception of them is accepted and that you shouldn't have to do that. And that you should go back to where you were accepted for everything you loved about yourself. But that's just what i think personally..

I love this song. It makes me cry it just means so much in my life. To me it means dont try to be someone that you arent because in the end it wont be worth it. I tryed to change mysel for a guy then i heard this song and i decided that i didnt wantf to change because it not me. He ended up dating me. Thats not the point tho. This song isnt just about hollywood not being america it about being your self and not changing for anyone.

This song reminds me of when i went to the palm springs of washington... Yakima. I got a job at pizza hut and i had to change a lot of shit about myself that i didn't want to. It was stupid. Like one time i didn't even charge this dude for his pizza because i wanted to date or bone or whatever him, you know? Weird stuff happens there because its not like the real deal... Its not america.
