basically the song is about how people said they wouldn't make it and they did. and people put labels on them but their not accepting them, theyre just pushing through everything to make music for the fans who've been going to their shows from the begining. ("diehards")
and theyre not mumbling at the begining of the song- theyre reading bad reviews critics gave them before they made it.
