(Can you stop the fire?
Can you stand to fight her?
You can't stop the fire
You won't say the words)

Please, please forgive me
But I won't be home again
Maybe someday you'll look up
And barely conscious you'll say to no one
Isn't something missing?
You won't cry for my absence, I know
You forgot me long ago
Am I that unimportant?
Am I so insignificant?
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?

Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't someone missing me?

(Can you stop the fire?
Can you stand to fight her?
You wont stop the fire
You won't say the words)

Please, please forgive me
But I won't be home again
I know what you do to yourself
I breathe deep and cry out
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?

Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't someone missing me?

And if I bleed
I'll bleed
Knowing you don't care
And if I sleep just to dream of you
And wake without you there
Isn't something missing?
Isn't something

Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?

Guys, listen. This is what it's about:

She's running away, for she feels so neglected by her own parents. As if they don't even know she exists. And she knows that they won't recognize she's gone. They've already forgotten about her. They've never been there for her when she was there, so why would they care now that she's gone?

It's not about some dope relationship with her and a "lover" or anything. Though, you might be able to twist it around somehow to fit that. And perhaps you could use that for some AMV or fanfiction. But let's be honest, it's about running away from home and knowing you won't be missed.

I guess perhaps you have to go through the feeling to know the meaning of this song. I personally can relate to the feelings she goes through in this song--knowing no one cares, wanting to run away from it all.

Thank you for actually reading my piece-o-crap translation of the song's story. So yeh, I leave you now. Bye.

I think what this song means that it's like me I was abandon as a young child this song relates to me a lot. I think that in my book the main person was abandon too first by the parents and then by her sister after that a darker side came and she made her a toy she would look up at the moon and will cry.

This girl is misunderstood by everyone. She feels like no one loves her. She's feels alone. She's been rejected or abandoned by everyone she has ever loved. She could be singing about a guy or her parents or her friends or all of the above. It doesn't really matter. She's really just wondering whether anyone would miss her if she died or ran away. Would anyone notice? Would anyone care? She would die to know that someone loved her. That someone would notice she were missing. That someone would come looking for her. Personally, I see it as being about a relationship. She loves him deeply and he could leave her or take her. It isn't really that important to him. He would probably notice if she were missing, but he wouldn't try to find her. He would probably shrug his shoulders and carry on with his life. This hurts her. She knows he doesn't care, but she would die to know he did. Maybe even hurt herself just to see if he cared. Could be about suicide. Possibly she is considering taking her life and hopes that he will care enough to stop her, but inside she knows that he doesn't and wouldn't. Hence, when she says, "And if I bleed, I'll bleed knowing you don't care." In the end, she realizes that he doesn't love her and there is nothing she can do about it and she is all alone left wondering if anyone will ever care about her. Wondering if she will always be alone. Wondering if she will ever be loved.

I think it's about a one-sided love. The girl probably loves the guy and cares a lot about him but the guy probably loves someone else. But the guy used to be really close to the girl at one point long ago. And the girl feels that after time they started to drift apart [probably because of the other girl] and she thinks that he wouldn't notice or care even if she left.

For me it could fit both the one sided love and the neglecting parents meanings. Though i must admit it 'i'll wake without you there' sounds strongly like she's talking to the significant other, you know, to whom she's insignificant.

No need to be aggressive, though. In the end songs convey different things to everyone. I understand it's easy to see the neglecting parents meaning if you had parents like that. But that's true as well if you live or lived with a guy/gal who forgot they once loved you.
