Guys, listen. This is what it's about:.
She's running away, for she feels so neglected by her own parents. As if they don't even know she exists. And she knows that they won't recognize she's gone. They've already forgotten about her. They've never been there for her when she was there, so why would they care now that she's gone?
It's not about some dope relationship with her and a "lover" or anything. Though, you might be able to twist it around somehow to fit that. And perhaps you could use that for some amv or fanfiction. But let's be honest, it's about running away from home and knowing you won't be missed.
I guess perhaps you have to go through the feeling to know the meaning of this song. I personally can relate to the feelings she goes through in this song--knowing no one cares, wanting to run away from it all.

I think it's about a one-sided love. The girl probably loves the guy and cares a lot about him but the guy probably loves someone else. But the guy used to be really close to the girl at one point long ago. And the girl feels that after time they started to drift apart [probably because of the other girl] and she thinks that he wouldn't notice or care even if she left.

For me it could fit both the one sided love and the neglecting parents meanings. Though I must admit it 'i'll wake without you there' sounds strongly like she's talking to the significant other, you know, to whom she's insignificant.
No need to be aggressive, though. In the end songs convey different things to everyone. I understand it's easy to see the neglecting parents meaning if you had parents like that. But that's true as well if you live or lived with a guy/gal who forgot they once loved you.

As we awaken to who we truly are (‘something missing’) – we leave behind (‘I won’t be home again’) a state of being and the people that perceive us from our past, though we still love them unconditionally in our new form (‘awake without you there’). While asleep to true consciousness (what most unknowingly view as unimportant, insignificant, something missing), we inherently know there is a greater truth than experience we witness in ourselves and others. The Waking and Awakened know what others do to themselves – we ‘breath deep and cry out’ to let them know something is missing. Being our true selves is a ‘sacrifice’ of our former self – they cannot exist simultaneously - we have to consciously choose to be our true selves knowing that unconscious others wont try for us – not now, not ever. We die to know others are awakened to unconditional love so we are not alone.

Being awake means we bleed from the pain of ‘knowing you don’t care’ and ‘(a)wake without you there’. The loneliness of being conscious is missing the love of the others we thought truly loved us.
