Mother, where are you today?
You took a piece of me the day you went away.
No recollection nor the smell of your perfume;
I took a piece of you the day I left the womb.
The day I left the womb.
Brother, put your needles down.
The best thing for you is to leave this awful town.
Pretty soon, you'll have kids to feed.
If you see mother, tell her I can sing. [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/e/escape_the_fate/the_day_i_left_the_womb.html ]
Please don't worry, I am doing fine.
You're much to busy to even find the time.
So use your chemicals and take this to your grave;
The boys you left are men you didn't raise.
And Daddy, how are you today?
You must be proud of the boys that you have raised.
Your withered heart, and everything it's seen,
Your cuts and calloused hands, you had kids to feed.
You had kids to feed.
Please don't worry, I am doing fine.
You're much to busy, to even find the time.
So use your chemicals and take this to your grave;
The boys you left are men you didn't raise.
It's about basically his life. A letter out to his family.
The first verse, is about his mother and she left him when he was very young, young enough to not to remember her. And he is very much aware that she is a part of him, no matter what.
The second, is about his brother, obvs. He was into rugs. "the best thing for you is to leave this awful town. " ronnie wants the best for him and wanted him to leave the life that they had. And with the possiblity of a child of the brother.
The chorus. I think that ronnie is angry at his mother for leaving him. Considering the tone of the words. "the boys you left are men you didn't raise. " emphasise that.
The last verse is of his father and how he worked hard to raise the two boys. Even go as far to ruining himself. Ronnie is proud f his father for what he had done for him and his brother.
Pretty much my evaluation of the song. It's pretty easy to decipher actually.

His mom was never there for him and he's showing her that all he is today was cared for by his dad and made him who he is. He's showing his mom what she missed.

Id like to think it is about his tragic life . He pretty much was singing about what is life was all about, his mom leaving him as a boy and leaving him to be raised by his dad , nuff said.

He misses his mother.. Possibley? Not quit sure, correct me if i'm wrong.
This song hits me. Even tho i grew up with all of my family i still think of this song && cry. I adore ronnie && in this song you can hear his heart calling for his mother && brother. He sounds sad && i can tell it hurts for him to sing this because if you listen closely, you can hear the tears he is fighting back. I agree with maxgreenlover as well. If you don;t know what you are talking about than please don't post the meaning to a song. Thanks(:

This song is about his childhood. He said "mother, where are you today cause his mom left when he was a baby and he never got to talk to her. His brother does alot of drugs thar why he told him to put his needles down.
This song makes me cray alot, i have been through alot i have seen things most kids can't dream about, and he lost his mother, thats something you don't fully come back from, and he is kind of being really personal with his family! Liek his brothers drug problem, his mom left, his dad was all him and his brother had :(
I agree with etflover because ronnie sounds sad and stuff like i dont come close to his kind of stuff because my mom left me without saying goodbye to me and she was like gone for 3 months but now she dosnt know that im really there, my brother was on drugs for awhile too. But the part about his dad. I wish i knew mine i think all parents are the same they cant handle there own children in the first place they shouldnt have children.
