Enter Shikari – Mothership lyrics
Go tell all your friends that this is the end
Go tell all your friends that this is the end
Go tell all your friends that this is the end
This is the end

I don't understand a word you're saying
What are the crowds running from
There's something in the air tonight
Something is wrong, spit it out!

I just fell from the Mothership
They said that
Your answers, were always lying on the ocean bed
Your answers, were always lying on the ocean bed

There's something in the air
There's something in the air
In the air, in the air
Tonight, I'm wide awake, I'm wide awake
In the air, in the air
Tonight, I'm wide awake, I'm wide awake

And I'll scream with a thousand voices...
I am sane
I am sane
My soul felt so safe up there
No self-centred natives destroying our earth

I just fell from the Mothership
They said that
Your answers, were always lying on the ocean bed
Your answers (your answers, your answers) were always lying on the ocean bed

Walk the plank, walk the plank, walk the plank
Walk the plank, walk the plank, walk the plank
Walk the plank
Your answers were always lying on the ocean bed
Your answers were always lying on the ocean bed
Your answers were always lying on the ocean bed
Your answers were always lying on the ocean bed

I've thought a lot about this song and it sort of matches up with their overall alien-esque whole idea. The idea is that us humans are destroying our Earth and succumbing to consumerism. Enter Shikari can be seen as a group of humans, who may be aliens or may just be in contact with them, that see by the horrible reality and try to fight against it.
This song is specifically about a person viewing these horrors from a different perspective, while he is forced to travel back and live knowing these realities.

Wow, you guys just took everything they said literally. Think abut it. "What are the crowds running from?" Whoever the song is referencing to, must not conform to the usual lifestyle, as the crowds, or the normal people shun them. "Walk the plank" is the implying they were shunned, or not accepted. The "Mothership" is implying they are different, like aliens. Nothing about Enter Shikari is similar among an other band. Their political views and the way they write their songs are among the most advanced.
I've ever heard in lyrics. I can really relate to this song, seein as I don't really fit anywhere in a social category.

This song is about someone getting abducted, and at first is scared to death! But once he is released, he realizes how much better it would have been to just stay on the mothership(My soul felt so safe up there; no self-centered natives destroying our earth). He is called insane, and possibly commited?
Before the aliens returned him they just left him with one bit of knowledge"your answers were always lying on the ocean floor".
This makes me think of Atlantis, the lost city. Stories originally told of how it was sunk by the gods, which many ruins have depicted as alien life forms.
At the end, he decides to search for these answers and fight his fear of the unknown(Walk the plank! Your answers, were always lying on the ocean floor).
There is definitely another meaning to this though, since its started from the previous song, which voiced thier horror at the earths destruction, and some being that has waited for 1, 000 years to come back reaping its veangence for us destroying their home, this is the second part to it.
