It's your future

Ohhhhhhh

This is 'gonna change everything (x3)

System meltdown

Stand up
How we gonna get through this alive?, get through this alive
It's not too late, it's not too late

Stand up
How we gonna get out this alive?, get out of this alive
It's not too late, it's not too late

Stand up
How we gonna get through this alive?, get through this alive
It's not too late, it's not too late

Stand up!
Countries are just lines, drawn in the sand

Inside this sick foundation
We've had the realisation
Inside this sick foundation
We've had the revelation

Fuck all borders and fuck all boundaries
Fuck all flags and fuck nationalities.

You've gotta give us a chance before we reach our,
System meltdown

Stand up
How we gonna get through this alive?, get through this alive
It's not too late, it's not too late

Stand up
How we gonna get out this alive?, get out of this alive
It's not too late, it's not too late

Stand up
How we gonna get through this alive?, get through this alive
It's not too late, it's not too late

Countries are just lines, drawn in the sand with a stick

Inside this sick foundation
We've had the realisation
Inside this sick foundation
We've had the revelation

We begin to learn to smile again
Start to walk that extra mile again
Cos I know that we are one

It's not too late, it's not too late
Stand up
It's not too late, it's not too late

Fear begins to vanish when we realise

That countries are just lines, drawn in the sand with a stick.

The meaning's pretty obvious. Basically we're all humans but we're segregated by the fact that we live in different areas. Like somebody being completely alien to you because they live next door. Treating all people with the same respect you'd treat your neighbour because all the countries are neighbours. Lines in the sand drawn with a stick. And yea pretty much every song on the bloody album is about war.

Not just the economy but the mindsets of the people are factors that are causing our modern world to act unstable and we are on the verge of disaster. If we do not see a brother and sister, and if we keep our countries to ourselves while allowing the powerful and rich to keep on pushing the already tipping house(world) by corrupting its foundations then we will soon surely be watching our world "fall and crash".

My understanding of this song is that it is talking about the economy and how it's very unstable (on the side of a cliff) and how the system/ecomemy is melting down hence the title system meltdown, and the house on the cliff is now the wreckage on the rocks states that our ecomemy has hit rock bottom. I think it's amazing how enter shikari have shown this, but it's not just this song that is relevant to the everyday society of england, listen to some of their other songs, they all have a deeper meaning. I think more people (like people in government) should listen to enter shikari, they send out great moral messages and I think more people should know about these messages.

This text is silly. Never knew why bands write songs about politics. Like if art can change the world. Bob dylan was one of the artists I know who gave up with the so called protest songs, cause he realised it has no meaning. The government will be anyways stronger. They know how to sustain their power even after they killed the leaders. Serbia is a good example for this.

Enter shikari probably watched zeitgeist or something similar. All their songs on the new album are about our failing economic, social and monetairy system, and their consequences (war, poverty, pollution, .). Most of all, they are about realizing how the world is being run at this moment, and trying to see behind what people would want you to see, in order to change for the better. This song in particular is about the realisation that our system is about to fail, and that everyone is in it with you, no matter who you are or where you're from. It's about hanging in there and uniting for a better world.
