I fell in love with an Oklahoma girl
She stole my heart took over my world
She lit my cigarette and never had to ask
One look and I was gone like that

That's ok I don't mind
A Texas boy just might find something in an Oklahoma girl

When I met that girl she took me where I've never been before
Miles away from my so-called live I didn't really care
She took me there...

Made a 2-hour drive to stay one night
A kiss on the lips made it all feel right
Her hands through my hair and her head on my chest
The whole day we stayed in bed

That's ok I don't mind
A Texas boy just might find something in an Oklahoma girl...

When I met that girl she took me where I've never been before
Miles away from my so-called life I didn't really care
She took me there...

I crossed the state line about an hour ago
Got all week to brag to everyone I know
Who roll their eyes and shake their heads
Or Have their doubts
Make their bets...

That's ok, I don't mind
A Texas boy just might find something in an Oklahoma Girl...

When I met that girl she took me where I've never been before
Miles away from my so-called life I didn't really care
She took me there...

No. Mans land was never a part of oklahoma. It's the area that is now the oklahoma panhandle. When it was no mans land it wasn't part of indian territory nor texas nor kansas nor colorado nor new mexico nor oklahoma. That's why it was called no mans land. No state wanted it. If you've ever been there you know why.

There is a somewhat quiet love hate relationship between oklahoman's and texans. While in many ways there are great similarities between the two states, the people and the way of life in them, texans especially tend to see oklahomans as inferior.

I can actually say that i am from both states and have experienced this first hand.

So, to me the meaning of this song is that he is breaking cultural boundaries and going into "no mans land" (which actually used to be part of oklahoma). He is crossing into enemy territory by falling in love with a girl from oklahoma. But that's ok...
