Donovan – Jersey Thursday lyrics
In the tiny piece of coloured glass my love was born
And reds and golds and yellows were the colours in the dawn.
Night brought on it's purple cloak of velvet to the sky
And the girls go willing spinning on Jersey Thursday.
In the tiny piece of coloured glass my love was born
And reds and golds and yellows were the colours in the dawn.
Night brought on it's purple cloak of velvet to the sky
And the girls go willing spinning on Jersey Thursday.

Well not until the last 6 months did I listen enough to this....then I realized it was one verse, twice. But what a verse! Sounds like he's having a chill day out there on Jersey. It resulted in a quite haunting beautiful enigmatic song. First heard this whilst watching "Rushmore" As to the meaning? After the Tiny Piece of Colored Glass....line it seems a day or two at an English faire.
As for what was in that coloured glass? That's for the Ages.
