Dizzy Mizz Lizzy – Silverflame lyrics

(Track 7 on "Dizzy Mizz Lizzy")

Sorrow hides under the water
Sorrow is my only friend
Sorrow stands beside the doorway
And sorrow needs a helping hand

Girl in a glass box dressed in white
Happy enough to commit suicide
She said that silver's meant to burn forever

Sleeping forever in a bubble of blue
Would you like to see her point of view?
She said that silver's meant to burn forever
- forever

Say my name silverflame take control
Of my heart of my mind and of my soul
What a shame silverflame that you can't burn forever

And in the garden is a cheap hotel
Only invited if your thing went well
She said that silver's meant to burn forever

Sleeping forever in a bubble of blue
Would you like to see her point of view?
She said that silver's meant to burn forever
- forever

Say my name silverflame take control
Of my heart of my mind and of my soul
What a shame silverflame that you can't burn forever

Personally, I think this song sings about some girl who took drugs and eventually killed herself by drowning. Now I'm going to interpet it:.

First of all, "Silverflame" is a slang for the tubes of tin foil used to smoke heroin with.
"Girl in a glass box dressed in white.
Happy enough to commit suicide"-->This line is describing a girl who lives in her own world("In a glassbox") and is a good/innocent person("Dressed in white"-->White is color of innocence). This kind of people are often bullied by other people and don't know how to deal with it, and obviously this girl too, so she starts taking drugs, and now she is "Happy enough" to commit suicide.

"She said that silver's meant to burn forever"-->This line shows how sad actually she is, she wants to feel like this forever, just not to feel pain.

This part also shows that she is not accepted by society:
"And in the garden is a cheap hotel.
Only invited if your thing went well.
She said that silver's meant to burn forever"-->Cheap hotel is a place where young people are gathering for holidays etc., and now, she is not invited, so she took drugs again.

"Sleeping forever in a bubble of blue"-->This line explains the very first line of the song: "Sorrow hides under the water", now we see why it hides under the watter-->Because girl killed herself by drowning.

    The chorus:
"Say my name silverflame take control.
Of my heart of my mind and of my soul"
-->Shows us that now, singer is sad because girl drowned herself, and now he is taking drugs too. And by this line:
"What a shame silverflame that you can't burn forever"-->He is saying like: "I just don't want to feel this pain".

I can't say that this really is meaning of the song, because we can't know what Tim Christensen wanted to say, but this is how I see this song. Also, Tim Christensen said once that this song had no meaning to him when he wrote it, so I suppose that he is not talking about real girl who commited suicide, but some imaginary girl. I suppose that he was just inspired with how absurd people sometimes function, because, this case can sometimes be seen in the world.

Anyway, this is one of the best songs by Dizzy Mizz Lizzy and my favourite one, and no matter what Tim Christensen wanted to say, this song will always be kickass ;)

(P.S. I apologize if there are any mistakes in this text, English is not my mother language).
