Rusted brandy in a diamond glass
Everything is made from dreams
Time is made from honey slow and sweet
Only the fools know what it means
Temptation, temptation, temptation
Oh, temptation, temptation, I can't resist
Well I know that she is made of smoke
But I've lost my way
He knows that I am broke
But I must play
Temptation, oh temptation, temptation, I can't resist
Dutch pink and Italian blue
He is there waiting for you
My will has disappeared
Now confusion is so clear
Temptation, temptation, temptation
I can't resist
Temptation, temptation, temptation
I can't resist

Song is for Tom Waits version:
The brandy has been waiting too long, it has turned to liquid rust. It was poured into a diamond glass. Class, wealth, opulence ... the rust is juxtaposed with the diamond.
He had dreams that were rusted towards a woman who desired wealth from him.
Then it becomes apparent that he just had dreams of she, she was out of his class.
He waited too long. Time is made from honey slow and sweet. He invested his time with her, it was slow and sweet, his waiting was as delicious as honey and only the fool relates to that, the missed opportunity of the fool desiring the waiting for too long.
She tempted him, but he knows she will disappear like smoke. But he's lost his way ... in the smoke... smoke of the temptation (love is blind) and he is broke, he can't woo her with money. So he plays his music.
Dutch pink and Italian blue she is there waiting for you.
She waits not in provocative red, but girlish pink, less threatening for him; and Italian blue to still give sophistication, but reflective of his mood. She is waiting for him. His will has gone, he will not resist the temptation.
