I want to write your name into my flesh
I want to be in love with myself again
I want to bring it down
I want to bring it down
I believe that things are changing
Where is the gain in all the hell you bring
In the search for something new?
Because the birds won't sing when their cages stink
So think of something else to say
Because things are changing [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/d/deepfield/into_the_flood.html ]
I want to write your name into my flesh
I want to be in love with myself again
I want to bring it down
I want to bring it down
I believe that things are changing
Your hands, held tight around
The throat of what it is to live these days
And we choke on the pain feed into our heads
We're not gonna be here when you get back
I want to write your name into my flesh
I want to be in love with myself again
I want to bring it down
I want to bring it down
I believe that things are changing
For the best
And all the rest into the flood
All of me has to bleed
But part of me has got to be alive
I think tobi_taco is kinda right. There's a person who essentially wants to be free of someone or something he loves, and yet, he loves that person or thing, so he's fighting with what he wants more: his freedom or the object he loves.
I personaly think that this song is talking about,
a man who is personaly feeling down. He is talking about the world/life. How people are just ignoring the fact that
in todays society everything is evolving. The latest stuff, tecnology and sutch. Its for the good but is also affecting us in
a bad way in the end. (thats just how i personaly
interpret it. ) ^_^
