Death In June – Runes And Men lyrics

With your hair of flaming Roses
Your kiss - Medusa's touch
Turn me to a pillar of salt
To die now would be perfection
Then my lonliness closes in
So, I drink a German wine
And drift in dreams of other lives
And greater times
White sheets wrap my mind
In drunken thoughts of runes and men
Why does the devil leave for us
This legacy of lonliness
This cry for the moon
And a dagger's thrust
With your hair of flaming blooms
And your eyes of saintly dusk
Then my lonliness closes in
So, I drink a German wine
And drift in dreams of other lives
And greater times...

Its a great song, I love to play it, its unbelievable how powerful and dark its is, especially when our old friend douglas is performing, most death in june songs are quite simple, yes as folk music is, but he's the only one who can spread thi magic, that is fascinating and frightening uns at the same time. I think people shouldnt take his right wing provocation too serious. I'm from germany and I am sick of "oh look he is a nazi". Douglas kind of represents the world because he may have bad thoughts and fantasies in his mind, but that's how the world is like, and everybody is attracted to the dark things in the world somehow, so its no wonder that we love death in june. I hope he is fine in australia, he's just a magic person, a genius. A very bad one but a genius. And I think he knows that.
