Life is sweet in the belly of the beast
In the belly of the beast
And with her song in your heart
It can never bring you down
It can never bring you down
Lost in a maze of a thousand rainy days
Of a thousand rainy days
But when I heard her voice
Oh it lead me to the end
Yes it lead me to then end [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/d/death_cab_for_cutie/stay_young_go_dancing.html ]
Cus when she sings I hear a symphony
And I'm swallowed in sound as it echos through me
And I'm moved
Oh how I feel alive
And through autumns advancing
We'll stay young go dancing
As the music plays
Feel our bodies sway
When we move as one
We stay young
Life is sweet in the belly of the beast
And wither her song in her heart
It can never bring you down
Cus when she sings I hear a symphony
And I'm swallowed in sound as it echos through me
And I'm moved
Oh how I feel alive
And through winters advancing
We'll stay young go dancing
At first i thought that this song was really about a couple going out and dancing to feel young and fall even more in love again, but dissecting the lyrics even more, it sounds a lot like this couple is making love, not dancing.

The song, on one level, is quite literal. Keeping the love in a relationship full of joy and wonder through out all the stages of the relationship no matter how old you are.
However, on another level, it almost sounds like a love song from an unborn child to its mother. Apart from the obvious "belly of the beast" line, the song makes constant allusions to the woman's sounds, and how they envelop the protagonist of the song. When it's not sound, it's an all consuming euphoric sensation.
