The Importance Of Cocaine lyrics

Dance Gavin Dance The Importance Of Cocaine lyrics

This hits too close to home for me
And I don't need to be reminded of this pain
In dwelled so long on the possible changes
Every step forward was a fall towards your demise

(the secret lives of wives)
And you beg me
Please don't go tonight
And I beg you
Please just come back down

To earth to build this trust
In which we have learned
To recreate

(the secret lives of wives)
And you beg me
Please don't go tonight
And I beg you
Please just come back down
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/d/dance_gavin_dance/the_importance_of_cocaine.html ]
Your pride won't let you ride
And you said
When will you give it up
I won't fail
I'm not leaving
You and me
And this will fall
How will we get it back up

(and I thought this candid smile was worn down)
(lying to suite the mood shop for ties to hang myself with)

And you say this ended in arrogance
Caused by my vanity
Oh where will you be

Well maybe you just looked too hard
Or maybe I don't look enough
Who will decide our fate

How will you align this with love
How will you end this with glory
Oh and don't let this go
And don't let me go
Just let this down

(stricken close to the heat)
(and I'm biting a line burn in wheat fields)
(shop for ties to hang myself with)

It's an recovering addict that's in love with a junkie. He's recovered, and she's still using. "and you beg me
please don't go tonight
and i beg you
please just come back down" she wants him to stay with her, and he wants her to stop using, or "come down" from her high.

The person whos point of view this is from got hurt, in a very similar way to before, due to a person he loved keeping secrets but them still willing 'to recreate', or at least try to, what they had before. The pereson who's point of view this is from can't take that pain a second time, so goes tie shopping. Now you know. Note, i may be wrong or seriously lacking, and the point of view of the narrarator is not the same as that oof the signer.
