Boys and girls wanna hear a true story
Saturday night I was at this real wild party
They had the liquor overflowing the cup
About five, six strippers tryin' to work for a buck and I, took one girl outside wit me
Her name was Loni
She went to junior high with me,
I said, why you up in that dance for cash
I guess a lots changed since I seen you last
She said...

What would you do if ya son was at home
Cryin' all alone on the bedroom floor
Cause he's hungry, and the only way to feed him
Is to, sleep with a man for a little bit of money
And his daddys gone, somewhere smoking rock now in and out of lock-down
I ain't got a job now, so for you this just a good time but for me this is what I call life. hmmm...

Girl you ain't the only one wit a baby
That's no excuse to be living all crazy
Then she looked me right square in the eye and said every day I wake up hopin' to die
She said (nigga) I know about pain 'cause
Me and my sister ran away so my daddy couldn't rape us, before I was a teenager, I'da been through more shit you can't even relate ta.

What would you do if ya son was at home
Cryin' all alone on the bedroom floor
Cause he's hungry, and the only way to feed him
Is to, sleep with a man for a little bit of money
And his daddys gone, somewhere smoking rock now in and out of lock-down
I ain't got a job now, so for you this just a good time but for me this is whar I call life. hmmm...

No wait a second, hold up, hold up, hold up, hold up
Stop the record yo, stop the record
Yo shorty you ain't gotta be goin' out like this man

Hold up
What would you do?
Get up on my feet, and let go of every excuse
What would you do?
Cause I wouldn't want my baby to go through what I went through
Come on, what whould you do?
Get up on my feet and stop makin' tired excuses
What would you do?
Girl I know if my mother can do it, baby you can do it...

What would you do if ya son was at home
Cryin' all alone on the bedroom floor
Cause he's hungry, and the only way to feed him
Is to, sleep with a man for a little bit of money
And his daddys gone, somewhere smoking rock now in and out of lock-down
I ain't got a job now, so for you this just a good time but for me this is what I call life. hmmm...

What would you do
If your son was at home
Cryin' all alone on the bedroom floor
Cause he's hungry
And the only way to feed him is to
Sleep with a man for a lil bit of money and his daddys gone, somewhere smoking rock now
In and out of lock-down
I ain't got a job now
So for you this is a good time but for me this is what I call life

What would you do if ya son was at home
Cryin' all alone on the bedroom floor
Cause he's hungry, and the only way to feed him

It is a Sad song. This guy finds a girl who he knew in Jr High, and ask why she is at this stripper club. She says I sleep with men to make money to feed my son. She says he sees this as pleasure, but she sees this as life. Her husband is not there to help support the son because he is in and out of jail. he explains that she shouldn't do this extreme action to support her family because he also has to raise a child. But she says that she had a hard life because her father would rape her and her sister
I am explaining this because problems with family still stands around and people have to the extreme to support their own family..

I like how the girl exposes the double standard (it's ok to watch the strippers, that doesn't lower a dude's self-respect/reputation whatever but that it's not ok to be the stripper). I don't like how the song gets all preachy about it and says that she's just making excuses.
