Side by side
We stand like brothers
One for all and all together
We will stay united through darker days
And we'll be unbeatable forever
Ireland, Ireland
Together standing tall
Shoulder to shoulder
We'll answer Ireland's call!
Come the day and come the hour
Some will live in song and story
We were born to follow our guiding star
And to meet our destiny with glory [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/c/celtic_thunder/irelands_call.html ]
Ireland, Ireland
Together standing tall
Shoulder to shoulder
We'll answer Ireland's call!
Hearts of steel and heads unbowing
Vowing never to be broken
We will fight, until we can fight no more
Till our final requiem is spoken
Ireland, Ireland
Together standing tall
Shoulder to shoulder
We'll answer Ireland's call!
Ireland, Ireland
Together standing tall
Shoulder to shoulder
We'll answer Ireland's call!
We'll answer Ireland's call!
It symbolizes a country coming together through the sport of rugby. Shows it can be done.

If only all irish men and women stood shoulder to shoulder... They would be a true super power. God bless ireland.

Ireland has suffered a lot through modern history, and ireland's call gives it hope of life renewed in the most inspiring way.

Family. Irelands call is about standing tall and being there to block the goals and all be together as one.

Being an irish person and having attended quite a few rugby matches i have to say its definitely the most inspiring song! Even if you watch the irish players when they are playing in ireland, half of them dont sing the national anthem but they all sing this song it shows that the song has a lot more meaning to the players and the fans as it rings out around the aviva stadium!

I've seen both versions of the lyrics. They're both great.

God save the queen
Am english, and a keen rugby union fan, and in my opinion ireland's call is by far the most inspiring "anthem" played at international rugby matches (our own god save the queen comes a long way last). If the troubles that we british helped to create in northern ireland are ever resolved, and ireland becomes a united country again (and lets hope this can be peacefully achieved one day), then i think ireland's call would make a wonderful national anthem for a united ireland (i sure someone can write a version in gaelic if this does not exist already.
