Love, carry me in
Carry me in
Held down by my words and the weight of my sins
Fear, fear of myself
All these books on the shelf, yeah they're dusty again
All along the way
People stop and stare
They just look past my face
They see that I'm not there
I fall into that hole, down down down again
All along the way, all along the way
Run, run from my past
Run from my past
I got hooks in my back from the first to the last [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/c/cage_the_elephant/carry_me_in.html ]
All along the way
People stop and stare
They just look past my face
They see that I'm not there
I fall into that hole, down down down again
All along the way, all along the way
(Aaaah, aaah, aaah, aaah)
All along the way
People stop and stare
They just look past my face
They see that I'm not there
I fall into that hole, down down down again
All along the way, all along the way
Now I see it's me
My splintered eye
Climbing up the wall
Waiting for the fall
Tonight I think I'll lose my mind
Carry me away, carry me away
I sit and watch the flowers grow
Someday they'll die
I sit and watch the world behold
Carry me away, carry me away
To me this song is about matt shults and his struggles with haroin. (if thats how you spell it) if you pay attention to the mood, tone, and words of the song, it makes more and more sense. I am a die hard cage the elephant fan and i gotta say this is one of there most complex and well made, produced, and played song i have ever heard by them. Even though its on the b side of shake me down, i think it should be on the next album. Along with dr. Dr. Dr. -headstrum
