Me and Mrs Jones, we got a thing going on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong to let it go now
We meet ev'ry day at the same cafe
Six-thirty I know she'll be there
Holding hands, making all kinds of plans
While the jukebox plays our favorite song
Me-e a-and Mrs, Mrs Jones, Mrs Jones, Mrs Jones, Mrs. Jones
We got a thing going on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong to let it go now [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/b/billy_paul/me_and_mrs_jones.html ]
We gotta be extra careful
That we don't build our hopes up too high
Cause she's got her own obligations and so, and so do I
Me-e a-and Mrs, Mrs Jones, Mrs Jones, Mrs Jones, Mrs Jones
We got a thing going on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong to let it go now
Well, it's time for us to be leaving
It hurts so much, it hurts so much inside
Now she'll go her way and I'll go mine
tomorrow we'll meet the same place, the same time
Me-e a-and Mrs, Mrs Jones, Mrs Jones, Mrs Jones, Mrs Jones

My english teacher in high school was mrs. Jones. She was a fine black woman, and i remember attending her class sitting there like an addle school boy. Every time i hear this song on a radio i immediately think of her, and wish our circumstances were different when we first met. As i am writing this note, i am still in love with her even though i graduated from high school many years ago. I've a girlfriend now, and we've been dating for 18 months. I don't know where and what become of mrs jones now, but i will do anything including breaking up with my girlfriend just to be with her, and make her all mine.
Many people think that it's a song regarding an affair between two people, which in reality it is an affair, but with heroin. The strong hold of him having to meet "daily" at the same place and the same time and "no one" will know. Very good song.
