I Can't fight, you just made me what I am. The Fate made you my cure as
Much as you are my poison. I will live but only if you save yourself so
Please don't run away from me

My name is life, I have ran across unimaginable vasts of land, I have lived
Too long for you to comprehend, I will never remember the names of all
Those that have held my hand, that have held my hand, I have cried in the
Faces, in the faces of a million corpses, though I will not live forever,
No I have a parasite, he who has the power to aid me to cleanse me of
Disease. Before you can save me, you must save yourselves

Don't try to kill me for I will kill myself, so please don't run away from
Me, see that I'm worth, my name is life, my body is earth, so please don't
Run away from me.

I have a body, it's name, the earth, the power I bear will soon be apparant
To you, I will shake down in a cold suffocation spit a firey death,
Consuming unbearable hate. I will digest all traitors with a gut of
Concrete mass. I'll blow you a way!
A wave I send to wash humanity clean with the soap of the martyrs tears,
It's been seen before, and will be seen once more, revival will be no
Option.

Don't try to kill me for I will kill myself, so please don't run away from
Me, see that I'm worth, my name is life, my body is earth, so please don't
Run away from me.
I can't fight, you just made me what I am. The fate made you my cure as
Much as you are my poison. I will live but only if you save yourself so
Please don't run away from me!

I, myself, do not personally believe in god, but I must admit that this song makes me think twice about things. Overall an amazing song. I love it! The vocals were amazing. The instrumental was unbearably beautiful. And I can't wait to check out some more songs by Betraying The Martyrs.

I love how the atheist understands the meaning better than most other people on here. I am a Christian, but I do not deny that even non-Christians are capable of understanding our religion. To the atheist who is, sadly, unnamed: Thank you for thinking and not trying to change the meaning of the song like many would try to do.

Truly, the song speaks of internal corruption, but a corruption of the earth as well. It's a monologue from the earth, yes, but it does not just speak to our effects upon it physically, but spiritually as well. The earth is corrupt because of us, and one day, it will reject us. After God's thousand year reign on the earth, it will be destroyed and there will only be Heaven. Perfection.

It means to accept god into your life for he is life and he created the earth it has nothing to do about being selfish and destroying our surrounding, it's about how you should be able to live with god before it's to late and cleanse yourself from sin most of their songs have religious meaning i for one love this band for their religious understanding even if i'm atheist.

Ummm, whoever said that comment about not fearing satan, obviously did not kno anything about him. Satan thought he was stronger than god, but god overthrew him. Satan actually used to be an angel, but now hes tha king of hell and torments damned souls. How can you not he afraid of a monster like that?
