You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world.
Tou tell me that it’s evolution,
Well, you know
We all want to change the world.
But when you talk about destruction,
Don’t you know that you can count me out.
Don’t you know it’s going to be alright,
Alright, alright.
You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We’d all love to see the plan.
You ask me for a contribution,
Well, you know
We’re doing what we can.
Ut if you want money for people with minds that hate,
All I can tell you is brother you have to wait.
Don’t you know it’s going to be alright,
Alright, alright.
You say you’ll change a constitution
Well, you know
We all want ot change your head.
You tell me it’s the institution,
Well, you know
You better free your mind instead.
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao,
You ain’t gonna make it with anyone anyhow.
Don’t you know it’s going to be alright,
Alright, alright

Song is response to leftists attempting to use name and fame of beatles to give legitimacy to their agenda, which was turned down. They also wanted large monetary donation to the cause, all of which are mentioned in the song.

they mention chairmen mao, who was a dictator in china in the mid-twentieth century. he started communism their, and tarted a plan that got rid of all the industry in the country. thousands of chinese people starved to death. wrong kind of revolution, if you ask me.

this song was written back when there were lots of revolutions taking place. even the beatles were there own revolution from their hair to their songs, no group was quite like them. so this song is mainly about not being afraid to take chances and start your own revolution, but at the same time, not always starting wars for simple things and trying to change the world. all in all, its a very good song and THE BEATLES ARE AMAZING!
