I've feared the deepest darkest secrets that live inside of me.
Defeat and tragedy, walking in shame, finding nowhere to hide.
I've thrown my bottles of guilt into the sea, hoping the waves carry them
away
from me.
Oh...
My heart is beating. I'll never stop fighting. I'll keep breathing...
My heart is beating. I'll never stop fighting. I'll keep breathing to stay
alive.
And here I go, off to make a change. I'm screaming... screaming revival. [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/august_burns_red/internal_cannon.html ]
All of my strength, all of my might, will go into this to take back my
life.
All of my strength, all of my might, will go back into this to take back my
life...
... my life... my life... my life. I'm taking back my life... my life... my
life... my life... taking back my life.
Let's go...
This song is music to my ears... (this song is music...)
and is a new production on an old stage (... on an old stage).
I won't dwell in unhappiness (I will not dwell in...), grasping humility,
asking forgiveness.
Tomorrow is gone, I'll start living for today. I'll never stop the fighting
and
I'll take it all away.
Tomorrow is gone, I'll start living for today. I'll never stop the fighting
and
I'll take it away

I disagree. The bottles in the ocean is the idea of putting our sin behind us and trying to deny that it is there. He then contrasts the idea of making war against sin and putting everything he has into fighting it.

All i can say is you do not understand abr if you are putting gd in a so called meaning of their song. This song reminds us that we all have a chance to achieve revival and turn our lives around. God and jesus are the waves that will take our bottles of guilt away, and give us life for today, tomorrow and the rest of our lives. I encourage everyone to take back their life, give it to god, and let him do his work. August burns red is a great example of what he can do. Jake luhrs and abr would 2nd what i've said, i'm sure.

"this is my favorite song on the album and one of my favorite songs we’ve ever written. I’ve described ‘internal cannon’ as our latin song. There are a few sections that i think are going to turn some heads and have people saying either ‘whoa! That was awesome! ’ or ‘whoa! That was weird. I don’t know if i like that. ’ for the latter group, i’d like to think it’ll grow on ’em. "

Its about a person turning on a new leaf, and not dwelling on regret of his/her past mistakes. Plus i totally dig the salsa thing going on! It goes really well with the lyrics, kind of that "am free" feeling because the person is starting over.
