Go

How many years have we waited
For a ship that never set sail?
And how many days have we wasted
Chasing a love that was not our own?
I sat ashore and watched
As one hopeless wave crashed upon another
While my thoughts ran to the highest hills
My heart never reached the sea
With only delusions of an endless journey
I am left with an ocean between you and me
An ocean between....

Is this your salvation?
Is this all you can give?
I will not stand in reflection
Of someone else's dream

The gate to my heart has been weld shut
With the splendor of my aspirations closed in
How many years have we waited
For a ship that never set sail?
And how many days have we wasted
Chasing a love that was not our own?
Is this your salvation?

Is this your salvation?
Is this all you can give?
I will not stand in reflection
Of someone else's dream

how many years have we waited
for a ship to never, never set sail
how many years have we waited
for a ship to never, never set sail
never set sail

Is this your salvation?
Is this all you can give?
I will not stand in reflection
Of someone else's dream

Is this your salvation?
Is this all you can give?
I will not stand in reflection
Of someone else's dream

this is a good song. but i think all of you people need to stop arguing with eachother wether the band is christian or not. its like thousand foot crutch. everyone thinks they are christian. the truth is. the band does not consider itself as a christian band. but honestly who cares. just enjoy the music

Uh As I Lay Dying isn't a christian band. Its a metalcore band.. They just are all christian.. This doesn't make them a christian band... This song can be view many different ways.. About god or a girl.. Its for you to decide. They do use christian ideas in their music.. But that doesn't make the a Christian Band..
    Because this band doesn't suck,
Like Normal Christian Bands do. Lol.

This song is about the band and the former bass player, about how the dude became more and more distant from the band, and less and less interested in the band as a whole. Not some dude and a chick.

Don't try to be someone else. Don't chase what's meant to be another person's purpose. Stand out from being just a follower.

I believe this is a song about a guy chasing a girl, and the girl leads him on, yet she keeps him at an arms distance because of a another guy who she likes but has a distant relationship with.

Is this your salvation? Is our friendship your salvation when things turn down with the other person thats distant from you.

Is this all you can give? All you can give is what you call friendship even though the other person is there to pick up the pieces all the time.

I will not stand in reflection of someone elses dream. Im not going to continue picking up the pieces of your other relationship all the time, while you claim we are only friends.

Meanwhile you are constantly waiting with for her to change her mind (the ship to set sail) and close the ocean of friendship between both of you.
