Dancing bears,
Painted wings,
Things I almost remember,
And a song someone sings
Once upon a December.

Someone holds me safe and warm.
Horses prance through a silver storm.
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory...

(Instrumental interlude)

Someone holds me safe and warm.
Horses prance through a silver storm.
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory...

Far away, long ago,
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart
Used to know,
Things it yearns to remember...

And a song
Someone sings
Once upon a December

I love this movie, and I really LOVE this song! It's about a girl who doesn't know that she used to be royalty. In the scene where this song is played, she has entered the condemned palace and is looking at all of the things that were left behind when everyone fled. She feels like all of the stuff is really familiar, but she doesn't quite remember how she has seen them before.

I'm in love with this movie. I am a performer in musicals and I know a good song win I hear one. And this one is amazing. I actually cast as Anastasia. I loved when I had sang this. So for anyone who says this song is ok or It's not good then they need to go to the doctors for help. I absolutely enjoy this song so does my friends. I have it on my iPod playlist.

Its about a young girl who doesnt kno anything about her past.when she sings this song, the spirits of the people who were killed during the revolution of russia try to remind her of what kind of world she was born into, and when she dances with her father,(the one who kisses her forehaed) she gets a sentimental feeling inside her, as if she knew him somewhere, but she cant remember

    Great song, amazing movie.
Daddysgurl93, you are incorrect. Just to be clear, Anastasia was part of the royal family. Everyone knows that, that was never being debated. She was the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. Scientists just prove that she died with the rest of her family though. For awhile there was a lot of debate that she may have survived and escaped when the rest of her family was executed. She, sadly, did not. She was killed, along with the rest of them, when she was 17 years of age.
The movie was made before this was proven. The movie remains amazing anyway.
