Alter Bridge – The End Is Here lyrics
Endless days
We search for what we hold inside
So hard to find
Luck turns
Will the fallen ever reach within and rise again?

For the rest of my life
I will find the answers
That were always here
I will find the meaning this time
I will find the end, till the end is here
End is here

Wasted time
With words that seem to break our will
They bind us still
Without a care they tarnish what we hold so dear
What was once so clear

For the rest of my life
I will find the answers
That were always here
I will find the meaning this time
I will find the end, till the end is here
End is here

End is here

For the rest of my life
I will find the answers
That were always here
I will find the meaning this time, oh
I will find the end, till the end is here

This song is all about regret of not acknowleging "truth" in the first part of the writer's life. God's greatness and desire for our lives is all around us. The sunset, the stars, ecology, complexity of the human body, conscience, and if the truth is told, within all of our hearts (even if you chose to ignore his voice or deny him, he is still there.)
Thus. In lyrics like 'we search for what we hold inside' and 'will the fallen ever reach within and rise again' and 'that were always here' and 'wasted time' are all references to the writer's understanding that god was always there, and the reference to Jesus regarding "will the fallen ever rise again" and his forgiveness and grace, and then his regret regarding how long he "wasted time" denying or ignoring the gift of Jesus and the power of god.
For the rest of the writer's life he will continue to seek god till the end of his own life, he will then find the 'meaning' in life that has illuded him till now because there are so many other voices talking to him that use words that tarnish his life, or bind him in some oppressive way that distorts the 'true meaning of life".
But, the writer's new meaning in his life, that he has realized was always there, and just needed to be acknowleged, will provide his life with purpose and direction, till the end of his corporal life, and until he gets to be with god in heaven.
