Slip to the void
To the dark
To the fall
Crawl to the life you shouldn't know
You should never come this way
To test the hands of fate
You don't belong here
Peel back the skin
Close your eyes
Hell is born
To the abyss, but be warned
You fear what you've become
My God what have you done?
You don't belong here
But it's all in the way
You touch and you obey
Denial
But it's all in the way
You touch and you obey
Denial [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/alter_bridge/slip_to_the_void.html ]
Sever the ties
Trip the wire
Dig your hole
Doubt is alive and you know
You were once led to believe
You were young and so naive
And now no longer
But it's all in the way
You turn your back today
Left to face this alone
Left to die with nothing you can own
Left to break in the cold
In the void that you made
The moment you let love go
Try win back your days
You let them all escape your heart
Now that you've come so far
Why did you have to fall so hard?
Look at what you've done
What have you become?
Left to face this alone
Left to die with nothing you can own
Left to break in the cold
In the void that you made
The moment you let love go
You let love go
You let love go
You let love go

Swing and a miss guys. Most of the album is about myles falling *away* from christianity. Like in show me a sign... "if i wake to find perdition, at least i'll know the fault is mine" this song is no different, talking about himself. "doubt is alive and you know/you were once lead to believe/you were young and so naive/but now no longer" in generally, this song is about feeling guilty about not believing("you let love go"), understanding what happens if he's wrong("sever the ties, trip the wire, dig your hole", "left to die with nothing you can hold"), but not really having a choice in the matter. If anything it's written from the perspective of those in the church warning him against his disbelief ("why did you have to fall so hard? Look at what you've done -- what have you become? ")

Agreed with yepthatsme. This track magically had me thinking about what i have become. Hehe
If anyone remembers, creed's lyrics often had a hidden christian double meaning. Look closely; this is about the fall of man. And the following track on the record, isolation, is about man being on their own, being isolated. Idk how the rest of the record plays into that, and maybe i'm overthinking it, but that's what i think.
