The horizon, now as dark as the crimes that brought them here,
Is filled with my impending dread
My foolish actions will cost so many good men
Achilles has come...
A thousand sails approaching
Sent here in her name to reclaim the one I stole
And destroy the walls of Troy
Desire leaves me numb to all the pain surrounding me
Storms will arise to condemn me
I will not die before her eyes...
It ends tonight [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/alesana/the_third_temptation_of_paris.html ]
Tragically I now must accept the penance I have earned
She is cursed and tonight we die
In the dawn of this, my end, I hold my sword true
I must let her go...
A thousand sails approaching
Sent here in her name to reclaim the one I stole
And destroy the walls of Troy
Desire leaves me numb to all the pain surrounding me
Storms will arise to condemn me
I will not die before her eyes...
It ends tonight
It ends tonight, I am alone
Pain fills her eyes, I am alone
I must save my honor, I cannot let them win, the blood of many spills
Sacred and profane is our love in death...
I just love this song it so pretty and its makes you think and how everything is mashed together its so amazing i love the fact its based off of history
I forgot to add, its the story of "the illiad" by homer, the story before "the odessey". Please correct me if i got something wrong, it's been a long time since i've read "the illiad".
This song is about the fall of troy in paris' view. The song title, "the third tempation of paris" means the third godess(aphrodite out of athena and hera) that promised him the most beautiful woman on earth. Which paris steals helen, she who is the most beautiful, from menaleus. The "thousand sails approching is greek who comes for helen and to destroy troy. The storms arrising is posidon who was against troy.
