Alesana – Ambrosia lyrics

A touch of poison seals my fate!
(The dawn echoes the night with my glory)
The sun himself honors me

Once king of roses, now lord of gold
(Blessed with the gift of gilded touch...)
The Gods themselves envy my hand
(... Fate wields it's knife to cut the thread)

I curse the day my dream became my descent
Suddenly I long for you, my only love

In my perfection I have no want
(A folly as fatal as sin...)
Yet eyes still glint with greed untold
(... Has now become the end of me)

I curse the day my dream became my descent
Suddenly I long for you, my only love

Have I not earned this, the gift of beauty within?
How selfish were the Gods to keep their riches from my rightful treasure?
I truly have become one of them... My fatal flaw

Oh yeah! I've got her hook, line, and sinker!
Thanks to me, she's her own new necklace!
Thanks to me, she's her own new necklace!
Thanks to me, she's her own new necklace!

Now she's good as gold!

I curse the day my dream became my descent
Suddenly I long for you, my only love
I curse the day my dream became my descent
Suddenly I long for you, my only love

... Cut the thread...

Yeah all my suffering is right. Almost all of Alesana's songs are mythologically based. This is definitely about The King of Midas. I do enjoy how people misconstrue this really simple song. Remember when the King Midas touched his love and she turned to gold.? Yeah, now you get it. Research the band before you post what you "think" their song is about. To date Alesana have now wrote a love song to my knowledge.

Hmm um well I think the title is a greek methology reference and I think the song is about maybe comparimg himself to king midas? But adding a twist like the way they added a backstory to the annabel lee poem(the emptiness) maybe he has everything he wants and hes powerful ad wealthy almost perfect but he meets a girl who means more to him than his power and money and she back stabs him? I dunno that's the way I see it: p I can definetly be wrong.

This is about king madis who thinks he is better then everything even the sun so he is cursed, at first he thinks itd a power, that evrrything turns to gold. His whle castle is gold and he is praised and people look up to him. Once night in affection for the love of his daughter he touches her and she turns to gold. He begs apollo to take back his wish butthe daughter remains a gold pice of gold. Even the great will fall.

Hey x guy music videos aren't always exactly what the song means duh! To me this song is about someone who pursues their career or hobbies or something like that and leaves love for later. And now that it's to late they realize that love is the most important thing and regret it and the last verse talks about tricking a girl into love and she is more of a prize then an actual lover so he cuts the thread and releases her.
