Ambrosia lyrics

Songwriters: Alesana; Lee, Dennis Lavell; Milke, Shawn; Thompson, Patrick M

A touch of poison seals my fate!
(The dawn echoes the night with my glory)
The sun himself honors me

Once king of roses, now lord of gold
(Blessed with the gift of gilded touch...)
The Gods themselves envy my hand
(... fate wields it's knife to cut the thread)

I curse the day my dream became my descent
Suddenly I long for you, my only love

In my perfection I have no want
(A folly as fatal as sin...)
Yet eyes still glint with greed untold
(... has now become the end of me)

I curse the day my dream became my descent
Suddenly I long for you, my only love

Have I not earned this, the gift of beauty within?
How selfish were the Gods to keep their riches from my rightful treasure?
I truly have become one of them... my fatal flaw

Oh yeah! I've got her hook, line, and sinker!
Thanks to me, she's her own new necklace!
Thanks to me, she's her own new necklace!
Thanks to me, she's her own new necklace!

Now she's good as gold!

I curse the day my dream became my descent
Suddenly I long for you, my only love
I curse the day my dream became my descent
Suddenly I long for you, my only love

... cut the thread...

One more thing, "Blood" can also be gold.. which makes much more sense "my dessert...Served with gold... I long for you, my only love"

Because when he had been eating his first meal, thats when it all went downhill. He realized the grave mistake he had made.. When he realized that his dessert ended up being just a bunch of gold he could'nt eat...

The part that says "I curse the day my dream became my descent
Suddenly I long for you, my only love"..
Can also be interpreted as "I curse the day my dream became my dessert, served with blood, I long for you, my only love"

However I presonally believe both is being said at once. K flame me pplz.

once king of roses, now lord of gold

king midas, known for his garden of roses, finds the drunk Silenus(who happens to passed out in his garden). after taking him home, Silenus son, Dionysus offered King Midas a reward. Midas asked that whatever he might touch should be changed into gold.thus, with this, he is
blessed with the gift of gilded touch

Midas rejoiced in his new power, which he hastened to put to the test. He touched an oak twig and a stone and both turned to gold. Overjoyed, as soon as he got home, he ordered the servants to set a feast on the table. So Midas, king of Lydia, swelled at first with pride when he found he could transform everything he touched to gold: but when he beheld his food grow rigid and his drink harden into golden ice then he understood that this gift was a bane and in his loathing for gold cursed his prayer". In a version he found that when he touched his daughter, she turned into a statue as well.

Now he hated the gift he had coveted.
in my perfection I have no want
yet eyes still glint with greed untold
a folly as fatal as sin has now become the end of me

I curse the day my dream became my descent suddenly I long for you,my only love

in this situation, he starved and cursed the gift he had obtained.AS if, king midas would say:
have I not earned this, this gift of beauty within? how selfish were the Gods to keep their riches from my rightful treasure? I truly have become one of them...my fatal flaw

now, my only concern is this part:
oh yeah! I've got her hook, line, and sinker! thanks to me, she's her own new necklace! now she's good as gold!

maybe the "her" he is talking about is his daughter whom he turned gold.

that's all.critisize, but dont discriminate.
thankes wiki! Surprised
