Hmm um well i think the title is a greek methology reference and i think the song is about maybe comparimg himself to king midas? But adding a twist like the way they added a backstory to the annabel lee poem(the emptiness) maybe he has everything he wants and hes powerful ad wealthy almost perfect but he meets a girl who means more to him than his power and money and she back stabs him? I dunno thats the way i see it :p i can definetly be wrong

This is about king madis who thinks he is better then everything even the sun so he is cursed, at first he thinks itd a power, that evrrything turns to gold. His whle castle is gold and he is praised and people look up to him. Once night in affection for the love of his daughter he touches her and she turns to gold. He begs apollo to take back his wish butthe daughter remains a gold pice of gold.. Even the great will fall.

This is bout king midas he had all this gold but he wnted more he mnade fun of the sun saying its not as good as it thinks so apollo comes down and grants midas a wish. Of course midas wishes for the golden touch. He goes around skippin and touching everything and making it gold. He goes to his garden(he had a huge garden of roses thts where "once king of roses, now lord of gold" comes from) and he makes the roses gold and thinks theyre beautiful but his daughter doesnt think so. He tries to comfort her but turns her into gold. He just goes and has lunch. But he discovers tht everything he touches does turn into gold. His cup, plate, utensils, and even his food and drink. So now he cnt eat. He basically has nothing now cus his daughter is gold and he cnt eat which is where the "i curse the day my dream became my descent" and the "a touch of poison seals my fate" is where apollo plays the trick on him by granting the wish cus apollo knew what midas would wish for so he turned it on him.in the end midas begs for apollo to take backthe wish . He does but midas gets donkey ears. Everything is fine and he does not die hehe i luv this song

Because when he had been eating his first meal, thats when it all went downhill. He realized the grave mistake he had made.. When he realized that his dessert ended up being just a bunch of gold he could'nt eat...

The part that says "i curse the day my dream became my descent
suddenly i long for you, my only love".. Can also be interpreted as "i curse the day my dream became my dessert, served with blood, i long for you, my only love"
