I got your letter, read that mom was gone
(Mom was gone)
I never thought that dad would ever lose his mind
(Lose his mind)
I haven't slept it seems like a wink long
(all week long)
And I've prayed a thousand times [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/aiden/kid_becomes_the_dream.html ]
To a god who doesn't take request
And all I hear is kid become the dream
Become the dream
You said it once I've heard it twice
You'll always make mistakes in life
Become the dream
Become the dream
I held this letter in my hand
And start to shake
Then wonder is the end
Is this the end?
I took for granted
All the things you've given me
I say this is the end
Is this the end?
I'll raise my fist
Shout and scream
I wont resist this life
Become the dream
Become the dream
I'll raise my fist
Shout and scream
I wont resist this life
Become the dream
Become the dream
When i hear this song, this is what i think (and it could be totally off):
A kid, maybe sixteen or seventeen, has issues at home-- probably between his parents. This in turn affects him, and he feels he has to do something to help. He tries to figure it out, maybe he even seeks help but comes back empty handed. The kid is talented, though, and figures the only way he can really help is to get a job and "become the dream", as in, put his talent to use. (in this case, "the dream" is being a singer, an idolized career. )
