Clever got me this far
Then tricky got me in
Eye on what i'm after
I don't need another friend
Smile and drop the cliche
'Till you think I'm listening
I take just what I came for
Then I'm out the door again

Peripheral on the package
Don't care to settle in
Time to feed the monster
I don't need another friend
Comfort is a mystery
Crawling out of my own skin
Just give me what I came for, then I'm out the door again

Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get just what I need
Lie to get what I crave
Lie and smile to get what's mine

Eye on what i'm after
I don't need another friend
Nod and watch your lips move
If you need me to pretend
Because clever got me this far
Then tricky got me in
I'll take just what I came for
Then I'm out the door again

Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get what I need now
Lie to get what I'm craving
Lie and smile to get what's mine

Give this to me
Mine, mine, mine
Take what's mine
Mine, mine, mine
Take what's mine
Mine, mine, mine

Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get what I need now
Lie to get what I'm craving
Lie to smile and get what's mine

Give this to me
Take what's mine
Mine, mine, mine
Take what's mine
Give this to me

Take what's mine, take what's mine, mine...
Take what's mine, take what's mine, take what's mine,
This is mine, mine, mine [whispered]

This song is absolutely about a drug addiction.

Its about being so overwhelmed by the addiction that he completely forgets about everyone else. He doesn't need a friend. because he has all that he needs. the package. He lies to everyone in order to conceal this addiction.

"I take just what I came for, Then I'm out the door again" Classic addict, They can't be hanging around a dealers house, just take it, and leave.

"Peripheral on the package, Don't care to settle in" That's all he can think about, he's walking home with this package, and you can just picture him paying attention to it on the walk home. Using his peripherals to look down at it while he's trying not to look suspicious. As soon as he gets home. he knows that he can just rip it open no need to settle down. Like a little kid walking to the candy shop. As soon as you reach the candy store, the kid loses the antsy-ness and just goes insane.

"Time to feed the monster, I don't need another friend" The monster is the addiction. There's no need for another friend, because he is now completely unable to even maintain it. All he needs are the drugs.

"Comfort is a mystery, Crawling out of my own skin, Just give me what I came for, then I'm out the door again" It goes back to the child-like antsyness. Only this time. He's going back instead of coming home. He's ever stuck in this cycle of never having enough, hence the crawling out of his skin. He will never be able to fulfill the addiction therefore he will never calm the lack of comfort.
