This is my vengeance for all the wrongs
You've formed against us
You always get me wrong
My whole existence revolves around the progress that we've made
I'll never be walked on again

I'm on the edge of the rooftop
Thinking nobody will ever know
I hope that you'd want to be the one to see
The distance from the road
I'm on the edge of the rooftop
Thinking nobody will ever know
I hope that you'd want to be the one to see
The distance from the road
The road

This is our triumph over all the forms of filth you've spread
We'll never let this go
Right from the very start I knew this day would come
Tonights the night we silence you
There's nowhere left to run

I'm on the edge of the rooftop
Thinking nobody will ever know
I hope that you'd want to be the one to see
The distance from the road
I'm on the edge of the rooftop
Thinking nobody will ever know
I hope that you'd want to be the one to see
The distance from the road
The road

Let this be your reminder
I'm everything that you wanted to be
Hope for the best but it's over
And you thought you were better than me

I'm on the edge of the rooftop
Thinking nobody will ever know
I hope that you'd want to be the one to see
The distance from the road
I'm on the edge of the rooftop
Thinking nobody will ever know
I hope that you'd want to be the one to see
The distance from the road
The road
The road
The road
The road

Such a pretty picture
Your chalk line on the ground
I hope you die

I think it's basically about people that want the band to fail. The analogy they use for this is this guy who is about to push the "devil" off the roof hene the title "Speak of the Devil" the guy is obviously adtr and the devil represents the people that want the band to fail, "This is my vengeance for all the wrongs you've formed against us you always get me wrong" Obviously its really about standing up for yourself. I sincerely doubt this song has anything to do about suicide let alone murder I think these are all just analogies. as for the choruses I believe that while it references murder, "I'm on the edge of the rooftop thinking nobody will ever know I hope that you'd want to be the one to see the distance from the road" it is purely analogical.

The song is saying that he is on the roof top about to push of all of his burden right off of the rooftop. He hopes that it will die when it hits the ground, and that he wont have any trouble with it anymore.

Well, I think this song is more to do with him being driven to scuicide by a woman. "i hope you'd be the one to see the distance from the road" shows that he is about to kill himself.. although he sees, whoever brought him to do so, is the one that should be killing themself.

"tonights the night we silence you"
talking about not silence because they arent alive, but the silence of the person that drove the person to scuicide.. in shock of what they made them do.

    "such a pretty picture
    your chalkline on the ground"
wishing it was them throwing themselves off instead of him.

The whole song suggests that he's about to kill somebody, probably with a sniper rifle. He's about to commit murder from the edge of the rooftop with a high powered rifle, hoping nobody will ever know his deed. He's getting payback for something, and the end suggests he's commuting a murder, not suicide

Women... Don't let them kill you! He's hardout singing heartout. He gave it all and he's on the edge of the rooftop. Why? She should just as well be their with him!
