You ask me if there'll come a time
When I grow tired of you
Never my love
Never my love

You wonder if this heart of mine
Will lose its desire for you
Never my love
Never my love

What makes you think love will end
When you know that my whole life depends
On you (on you)

Never my love
Never my love

You say you fear I'll change my mind
And I won't require you
Never my love
Never my love

How can you think love will end
When I've asked you to spend your whole life
With me (with me, with me)

This was my husbands and my wedding song 38 years ago, still together though we did go over
a few bumps in the road, but we still mean all
this and more to each other...

Listening to this song when you are seventeen in the 70's did mean something. To use it in an ad in 2012 is just wrong in many ways.

This is what every woman wants to hear from a man. But sometimes when he says it and the challenge of getting him to say it is over... So is her love. It is a nice song. Would that life were so simple.

"never my love" is a song that expresses the simple truth that fidelity is a divine attribute and when imitated in a sacramental marriage is to share in the nature of god.
