You lie silent there before me
Your tears may mean nothing to me now
The wind howling at the window
The Love you never gave
I give to you

Really don't deserve it
But now there's nothing you can do
So sleep in your only memory of me
My dearest mother

Here's a lullaby to close your eyes (goodbye)
It was always you that I despised
I don't feel enough for you to cry (oh well)
Here's a lullaby to close your eyes (goodbye)
Goodbye...
Goodbye...

So insignificant
Sleeping dormant deep inside of me
Are you hiding away lost
Under the sewers
Maybe flying high in the clouds

Perhaps you're happy without me
So many seeds have been sown in the field
And who could sprout up so blessedly
If I had died

I would have never felt sad at all
You will not hear me say I'm sorry
Where is the light
I wonder if it's weeping somewhere

Here's a lullaby to close your eyes (goodbye)
It was always you that I despised
I don't feel enough for you to cry (oh well)
Here's a lullaby to close your eyes (goodbye)
Goodbye...
Goodbye...

This song is amazing... It made me cry. It is about a love hate relationship between a mother and child. Both love each other but don't accept it and they express it as hate instead. It is possible that the child was abandoned. And so the child hated their mother, yet couldn't help loving them. Thus, the lines 'the love you never gave, I give to you' and 'it was always you that I despised' It kind of reminds me of Wrath from Fullmetal Alchemist. He hated his mother from the start but in the end, greived for her when she died. He hated her for giving him back to the gate, which she also regretted.

I could easilly see this as someone watching a loved one die... A loved one that was supposed to love them, but they didn't. So this person is letting them know that even in the last moments, they knew they were not loved, and the feeling is mutual... The ultimate pain being thrown back at them as a sweet, bitter revenge...

While many people are treating this song as if it is about the singer, I am fairly certain that it is actually about Walter Sullivan (from Silent Hill 4, the game that the song was created for) and his feelings concerning his victims as well as his birth mother. It is not a song that presents a metaphorical idea simply meant to relate to Walter - it's directly about him.

Sounds like her mother is within her last moments and she possibly was looking for her daughters forgiveness. Her daughter will give her mother piece of mind before she does but doesn't change the way she actually feels. The tittle room of angel symbolizes death thus it could be interpreted as her mother is about to pass away.

    It is the ultimate goodbye
nuff said... If you dont get or understand that then you must of grown up in a world of rainbows and lollipops... And if that is the case... I hope you one day take a trip to a little almost abandoned city called silent hill
